PD Location systems
Enabling accurate identification of deteriorating equipment
Elimpus PD Location systems detect and accurately locate Partial Discharge activity
within electricity substations.
Our systems can be installed quickly (within a day) and can start monitoring within
minutes of installation. Based on our world-leading radiometric technologies, our
systems can locate partial discharge throughout even the largest substations, to
sub-metre accuracy. All our technology operates on a non-invasive, non-contact basis
and can therefore be installed at any time - even when equipment is in operation.
This helps you minimise downtime and disruption, whilst maximising the other benefits
that our technology enables.
Utilities use our fixed antenna system, Elimpus4 Fixed,
to continuously monitor for and locate PD activity. This allows them to implement
preventive maintenance, rather than simply reacting when equipment fails.
Elimpus4 Mobile is a mobile antenna
array with integrated data-acquisiton and communications. It is ideal for longer
term , but not permanent, installation. It can be easily moved between substations
and is therefore particularly useful for spot detection, or where risk management
zones have been imposed due to type-fault equipment failures.
PDtect®4 Surveyor is a kit designed
to mount on the roof of a vehicle for use in conducting radiometric surveys of substations
to detect the presence of partial discharge (PD) through the reception of radio
frequency impulses emitted from stressed insulation.
PDTect®4 Surveyor
PDtect®4 Surveyor allows utilities to conduct their own surveys to detect, locate,
record and analyse PD activity.
