An opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated Field Service Technician as a result of growing business and increased contract wins in the electricity industry. The role predominately involves installing and maintaining a large fleet of Condition Monitoring equipment for clients throughout the UK as well as carrying out site surveys and electrical testing. The equipment will typically be located within HV electrical compounds which you will be expected to travel to using company vehicles. The role is a technician-based role so continuous on-job training will be provided to allow progression to engineer
Main Responsibilities:
- Installation of new condition monitoring equipment including subsystems and communications such as:
- Partial Discharge (PD) monitors
- Circuit Breaker condition monitoring
- SF6 gas density monitoring
- Transformer Dissolved Gas Analysers (DGA)
- Removal and relocation of existing systems
- Corrective maintenance
- Regular travel throughout the UK. May be opportunities elsewhere in future
- Manage and maintain spares and service equipment at the company premises
- Preparation of documentation and reports to support the field related work
Experience & Skills Required:
- At least 1 years’ experience installing and maintaining electrical equipment
- Minimum of HNC or equivalent in relevant engineering background
- Problem solving
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Self-starter with a can-do attitude and willingness to learn
- Current full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Power industry experience
- Data handling, planning, analysis and reporting skills
