Job Title: Hardware Electronics Design Engineer

Position: Permanent Career Vacancy (Full Time)

Elimpus is a hi-tech SME providing specialist condition monitoring systems and services to electricity transmission and distribution network operators. As our business expands, we are looking for dynamic individuals to join our high calibre team.

This is an Electronics Engineering Hardware Design role for someone with real world experience of circuit design, schematic creation, PCB layout, board testing and debugging. This would cover analog and digital design, from conditioning small signals, to microcontroller interfaces. They would be expected to work independently, as part of a small project team.

Education:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience
  • Ideally degree level, or adequate experience to carry out design work

Experience & Skills Required:

  • Wide analog and digital understanding
  • Design of analog circuits including:
    • Op amps
    • Low noise
    • Sensor interfaces
    • General signal conditioning
    • Circuit protection
    • Basic RF understanding
  • Design of digital circuits including:
    • Digital control, inputs and outputs
    • Interfacing digital to analog
    • Microcontroller or microprocessor buses
    • ADC and memory devices
  • Digital communication, such as:
    • I2C
    • SPI
    • RS485
    • Ethernet
  • Schematic designs
  • PCB layout (or an understanding of how it should be laid out)
  • BOMs (bill of material) and component selection
  • Basic PCB building
  • Test and fault find designs and circuits
